J.S. BACH: ST. JOHN PASSION
Shannon joins Les Voix Baroques and Arion Baroque Orchestra to combine their outstanding talents for this new ATMA recording of the St. John Passion by Bach, under the direction of organist and conductor Alexander Weimann. This recording was produced at the Chapel of the Grand Séminaire in Montreal, following performances during the 2010 Bach Festival in Montreal.

J.S. BACH: ST. JOHN PASSION
Shannon performs one of JS Bach's most famous and loved masterpieces with the Portland Baroque Orchestra and soloists Charles Daniels, tenor, Evangelist; Matthew White, alto; Jacques-Olivier Chartier, tenor; Tyler Duncan, bass; Joshua Hopkins, bass; and the singers of Cappella Romana. The double-CD package includes full texts and translations.

VIVALDI: THE RETURN OF THE ANGELS
Shannon re-joins Ensemble Caprice and Matthias Maute for a follow-up recording to their widely popular and JUNO Award winning "Gloria! Vivaldi's Angels". The CD returns to Vivaldi's Venice and to the Ospedale della Pietŕ orphanage where, beginning in 1703, Vivaldi, the Red Priest, not only taught the orphan girls violin and singing(!), but also composed many of his most dazzling concertos as well as a substantial part of his highly inspired corpus of sacred music. During the course of the present recording, we move from Vivaldi's description of war to his musical depiction of the joys of peace.

SALSA BAROQUE
Shannon adds to her award-winning discography with this new recording with Ensemble Caprice. Salsa Baroque; blends the music of Latin America and Spain of the 17th and 18th centuries. In director Matthias Maute's words: "Despite the human and political tragedies surrounding the colonization of the South-American continent, the musical culture that resulted is distinguished by its fiery spirit and passion: here is music with a unique character that enriches the repertoire of the 17th century with refreshing novelties."

FRANCESCA CACCINI: O VIVA ROSA
In one of the first albums entirely devoted to the works of the remarkable Florentine composer Francesca Caccini, Shannon once again reveals herself an artistic and intuitive performer of Baroque vocal music. Joining Shannon on this disc are frequent musical partners Sylvain Bergeron (theorbo, baroque guitar), Luc Beauséjour (harpsichord, organ) and Amanda Keesmaat (cello).

Wales: Land of song

WALES ~ THE LAND OF SONG
With the release of her fifth Analekta recording, Shannon recalls her Welsh roots, the culture that gave voice to her passion for music. An immigrant to Canada, Shannon's father was a longtime member of the Ottawa Welsh Society and sang for many years with the Gwalia Singers. One of Shannon's first musical milestones came when, at the age of 15, she performed at the prestigious Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales. She returned to Canada with the silver cup in hand and as a proud ambassador of Welsh music!

BACH and the liturgical year
After their widely praised recording of works by Mondonville, Shannon and Luc Beauséjour have once again teamed up for a CD featuring Bach’s works for soprano and harpsichord based on the liturgical year. Released in February 2008.

SÉMÉLÉ
Shannon’s critically acclaimed performance in the title role of Marin Marais’s Baroque lyric tragedy Sémélé with Le Concert Spirituel under Hervé Niquet from January 2007 is available on CD from the Glossa label. Sémélé is the final recording in Hervé Niquet and Le Concert Spirituel’s trilogy of baroque French operas based on mythological female figures.

DVDs

NOT THE MESSIAH: HE'S A VERY NAUGHTY BOY
Shannon stars as Judith in this film version of Monty Python funny-man Eric Idle's Not the Messiah, a comic oratorio inspired by Monty Python's Life of Brian. Shannon debuted the role in the world premiere at Toronto's 2007 Luminato Festival and subsequently at the Caramoor Festival, on a US tour to Houston, Washington, and Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl. This DVD was produced from the oratorio's only European performance, given at London's famed Royal Albert Hall in October 2009 to celebrate 40 years of Monty Python.
